Central Committee of Vietnam Students’ Association and Visa celebrate 10th financial literacy program

Visa, the world’s leader in digital payments and the Central Committee of Vietnam Students’ Association (CCVSA) are celebrating 10 years of partnership with the financial literacy program 2022. With the theme of “The Finan-tastic Duo”, students will partner up with small and medium-sized businesses in this year’s program as an opportunity to apply financial skills and support businesses seeking new growth opportunities.

The program aims to give students the opportunity to try the financial knowledge learned from Visa’s award-winning Practical Money Skills program and enhance SMEs to the next level by applying expert business tips and resources empowered by Visa’s Practical Business Skills platform. At the same time, it will provide SMEs with fresh perspectives from the next generation, supporting them in recovering from the pandemic.

Starting from the aim of equipping students with personal financial management skills, over the years, the program has gradually developed and collected the information, knowledge and skills to meet students' financial needs to start a business," Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, President of CCVSA.

Ms. Dung Dang, Visa Country Manager of Vietnam and Laos shared: “Students habitually use technology at a level many entrepreneurs from older generations would call wizardry. At the same time, they stand to gain a lot from learning proper financial management and entrepreneurship. It is our ambition to combine the best of the two worlds and show the difference conscious money management and cost-effective digitalization can make. As the leader in providing financial knowledge by educational initiatives, we aim to encourage people with financial skills and digital, Visa is overjoyed to have reached this milestone with the CCVSA in our flagship educational program.”

The program takes place from August 23, 2022 to November 19, 2022 including 03 rounds:

  • Kick-off: August 23, 2022.
  • Round 1: from August 23, 2022 to October 7, 2022.
  • Round 2: from October 10, 2022 to October 24, 2022.
  • Finale: from October 27, 2022 to November 17, 2022.
  • Final Night: November 19, 2022 (tentatively).

The winner of the program will be rewarded with a prize of VND45 million, while the first runner-up will take home VND25 million and the second runner-up will be awarded VND15 million, teams will receive a certificate of the program and a certificate of merit from the CCVSA. Even the 3 competing teams who did not make it through the second round will be awarded VND6 million each.

In addition, the program offers

  • 03 special prizes of VND5 million for the province or city with the highest number of entries (min. 50 entries).
  • 03 prizes of VND5 million are offered to the university with the highest number of entries (min. 20 entries).
